Fastnet Race Information Boats racing in the ocean

It is time for the infamous Royal Ocean Racing Club Fastnet race. Known as the Grand National of ocean races, competitors can face a whole range of conditions from flat calm to vicious gales and big seas. The gruelling 610 nautical miles can be a real test of stamina.

Setting off from Cowes on Sunday 12th August, the race will take you through the Needles, down the English Channel and out into the ever unpredictable Irish Sea, en route to the Fastnet rock. Once round, the fleet is homeward bound for Plymouth where a Champagne reception awaits your arrival.
