Start Sailing (2 days)

This course provides a short introduction to sail cruising for novices. By the end of the course, participants will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework and be aware of safety onboard.

 

Competent Crew (5 days or 3 weekends)

This is for beginners and those who would like to become active crew members rather than just passengers. By the end of the course you should be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the day to day routines.

 

Day Skipper Practical Sailing Course
(5 days or 3 weekends)

This practical sailing course gives you a chance to take charge on short passages under instruction with plenty of advice and help from the instructor. It is designed for tidal waters.

 

Coastal Skipper Practical Sailing Course (5 days)

This is an advanced skippering course for yachtsmen and women who have considerable knowledge of sailing and navigation and are usually aspiring towards a Certificate of Competence. Designed for tidal waters.

 

Yachtmaster preparation (5 days)

This is the ultimate preparation for those aspiring to earn a living skippering boats offshore or simply taking charge of their own or someone elses boat for extended passages. You will receive plenty of practice in navigation both blind and normal, rule of the road, mooring, both under sail on to and off anchors and bouys and under motor on to pontoons. You will navigate at night in busy shipping lanes and in tide. This course prepares you for the Department of Transport’s Yachtmaster exam.

 

Own Boat Tuition

Learn to sail at your own pace, and in the comfort of your own boat. Involve your family and friends if you like. The course lasts as long as it takes.

 

International Certificate of Competence (1 day)

We can organise the ICC test on your power boat, motor cruiser or sailing yacht. The test is an equivalent standard to Day Skipper or Power Boat level 2 and will take about half a day for one person and longer for groups up to 3.
